Backing up and transfering mailboxes

Hey there,

Just wondering what the best way to move user emails from one server to another.

I have some user mailboxes on a VPS and would like to move them to my dedicated server.

I remember Jordan mentioned that going from the VPS with CentOS 3.4 to the dedicated server with CentOS 4.5 might cause problems with the CP+ panel's built in backup functionality. Because of the differences in OS.

Which versions of Cp+ are you using? If I were going to try it, i would create a test email box and then shoot some test emails to it, maybe even with attachments. Once i was certain it was in working order I would attempt to migrate it over. If it doesn't work, it's pretty easy to upgrade to the latest version to try again. Let us know.

On the dedicated server: 3.4.1
On the VPS: 3.2.1

Do you think that all I need is to upgrade the CP+ panel?

You might want to upgrade the 3.2.1 installation just for the sake of symmetry - then just give it a try and make sure it works.
